Jonathan was born in Columbus, Ohio. He studied at Capital University in Bexley, Ohio in applied music and graduated at Thomas Edison College, Trenton, NJ with a Bachelor of Arts. He has bagpiped with the Capital City Pipes and Drums in Columbus, OH, worked for Scottish Products in NYC and has been certified in musical instrument repair in NJ. He studied Irish-Gaelic Language at University College Galway, Ireland and Scots-Gaelic Language at the Celtic College of Traditional Arts in Nova Scotia, Canada.
In 1970, Jon moved to New Hampshire and became an engineer on the famous, steam-powered, Mt. Washington Cog Railway for 15 years. Jon lectures on life at the Cog Railway and has an extensive collection of antiques and paraphenalia. He is at present finishing his first book about life on The Cog Railway.
Jon is also a highly certified computer networking specialist and busy maintaining many computer systems throughout the Mt. Washington Valley and New England with his own company, The Computer Man.
Jon performs with his Celtic harpist wife Jane in the duo called, "Mountain Streams Music" and they have performed on harp and bagpipes for countless venues world wide.
